The Zeiss Axioskop microscope has brightfield, phase contrast, and Nomarski DIC. The objectives available are1.25x, 4x, 10x, 20x, 25xoil, 40x, 40x oil, 63x oil, and 100x.

The Zeiss Axiocam digital color camera captures color histology images and color fluorescent images using either a Photoshop Plugin on a Zeiss Imaging Software or Openlab's Darkroom Software. The 14 bit/10MHZ with 1300x1035 pixels to 3900Hx3090V co-site-sampling. The pixel size is 6.7x6.7 micrometers.
